One of the many advantages of wearing merino wool shoes is that they are fully washable! See below for machine washing, hand washing, and touch-up instructions.
How to Clean your Merino Shoes in the Washing Machine:
- Start by wiping down the shoes with a towel to get rid of any loose dirt.
- Next, remove the insoles and laces from your shoes - you should wash these by hand in the sink for the best results.
- On the delicate/wool cycle (cold water) put your shoes in the washing machine. We suggest using a linen bag to protect the shoes.
- Air dry ONLY - do NOT tumble dry as they may shrink.
- Finally, reinsert the insoles and laces and continue to enjoy your Merino Shoes!
How to Clean your Merino Shoes by Hand:
- Hand wash in warm water using a soft cloth to clean.
- Clean any dirty spots with a mild soap solution.
- Air dry ONLY - do NOT tumble dry as they may shrink.
Additional Notes:
- We have found that Mr Clean® Magic Erasers work great to remove dirt & scuffs from the soles of the shoes.
- Do not use bleach or detergent with brightening agents.
- Do not soak in water for extended periods of time.
- Wearing in wet conditions may cause odor.
